1. Get the right amount of sleep: We’ve mentioned it here many times before – improving your sleeping patterns will improve your overall health. Everyone is different; some people are not getting enough, other too much, but somewhere between 7-9 hours is generally advised. 2. Keep you favorite fruits at hand: Sugary foods are great for a quick energy boast, but once it’s burnt out, you’re likely to feel more sluggish than before. Well all know you can’t keep pumping the body full of sugary foods to boost your energy levels throughout the day, so try eating fruit instead. Not only will they provide you with much need vitamins and fiber, but you’ll get your sugar rush from most fruits too.

3.Drink more water: Soda’s and sweetened drinks are a definite no-no if you’re trying to stay healthy. Sports drinks, with all their electrolyte goodness, can do wonders when replenish thirst, but at the end of the day there’s nothing better than water.

4. Take time to relax: Stress can greatly effect your overall well being, so finding time to relieve this stress is another practice that will have a positive effect on your health. Try yoga, meditation, reading, or anything else that you find relaxing.

5. Eat slowly: We’ve also mentioned this before – eating slowly will help regulate the amount of food you consume before your brain decides you’re full. You’ll boost your metabolism and you’ll need to less at meal times, therefore you’ll consume fewer calories and hopefully, start to shed any excess pounds.

6. Walk instead of drive: Walk to your local shop, or park in the space furthest from the shop; walk the dog the long way round the block, or take him/her twice a day. You’ll be surprise how much those little bits of extra exercise add up. Of course, you’re not going to buff up this way, but it’s a great way to make sure you’re far from your laziest.

7. Brown instead of white: White bread, rice and pasta have all had much of their goodness removed during processing. Stick with the brown varieties for a more natural healthy change to your diet.
