Regular Sex Can Decrease The Risks OF ED

Reduce the risk of Erectile Dysfunction in Older Men; the tip is to have more sex!

Researchers have new advice for men wanting preserve their sex life later on in their ‘golden years’.
The advice is simple, have sex, and have it often.

In the July issue of the American Journal of Medicine, a team of researchers from the University of Tampere in Finland reported that older men who have sex more than once a week are less likely to develop erectile dysfunction over the next five years, compared to men who had sex at least once a week.

Furthermore the team reports that men who had sex three or more times per week, decreased their risks of ED almost four-fold.

Dr. Juha Koskimaki and his colleagues at the University of Tampere conducted the study over five years on 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75.

The results were clear; those who have sex more reduce their risks of developing ED.

A number of factors can contribute to the development of ED, many of which may also affect a man’s sexually activity. These factors include;

  • Age
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease

ED occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki’s team writes,

“May help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue.”
“It may be a matter of use it or lose it,”

Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function.
