Lukyanova claims her look is au natural, however many people believe she has undergone a series of cosmetic surgeries to achieve her look. Others were quick to speculate if the photos were even real but a quick look at her video suggests the young lady is in fact real.

Experts such as Diane Levin, professor of education at Wheelock College in Boston, are worried that the self-promotion of such a look has a negative influence on social expectations of today’s women. She said:

“When Barbie came around, play suddenly became about dressing up and looking right and it eventually played a role in how women wanted to look in real life..

Over time, he won the trust of the girls’ parents. While Kellstein didn’t pay them, they now have a 10 per cent stake in the film.

”I originally thought I’d make a film that would start some action to maybe help stop the fighting because that’s just my knee-jerk Western reaction on what to do. But after all my time there and after seeing how empowering it is for the kids, I think just having a film that sparked cultural dialogue and cultural understanding is important. I don’t think it needs to be a means to an end any further than that.”
